HHICC Resource Center Burning CD/DVD Drives

The HHICC Computer Resource Center public workstations have a variety of CD/DVD drives installed. Please note that only drives that have R/W properties can be written to. Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 has been installed on all workstations to facilitate CD/DVD writing and processing.

Copying User Files To CD/DVD:

1. Start up Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 as shown below:

2. The following screen will appear. Enter the disk name you would like to use in the area shown below.

3. Navigate to the directory that contains your files to be copied to the CD/DVD. This example is on the network from the media center pc is user created directory named Don Schone. There are three files to copy, select the three files and drag or copy them from the “Source” to the “Project”. The “Burn” icon will now be on as shown below.

4. Continue to navigate and copy as many files as desired. While doing this, ensure that the capacity of the CD/DVD is not exceeded as indicated above.
5. When all files have been added, click the “Burn” icon to start recording. The screen below will appear.

There may be one or more drives listed, depending on what workstation you are using. Be sure to select a drive that is “RW”, the above example is on HHICCWS02 which has a DVD/RW drive. This drive can record CD or DVD media.

Notice that there is no media in the drive. Be sure there is a blank disk in the drive before continuing. If a blank disk is not inserted, you will not be able to record.

The following screen shows a disk ready to be written to.

6. Click the OK button to begin recording. The following screen will appear:

7. When the disk is completed, it will eject and the following screen will appear:

8. Click the close button and exit the program. Be sure to cleanup your file storage to allow sufficient space for other club members and prevent unwanted sharing of personal information.
